Common questions

My phone won't connect

Make sure the phone and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network. Re-open the address Dropit shows (or rescan the QR code) and accept the one-time security notice in the browser — Dropit uses a local certificate so phones can connect securely.

Where do received files go?

On the Mac, into your Downloads folder. On a phone or laptop, through your browser's normal download.

Is it private?

Yes — files transfer directly between your devices, encrypted, and never touch the cloud. Dropit collects no data. See our Privacy Policy.
